Inclement Weather Policy

This policy outlines the procedures for handling inclement weather at Fetch at The Stall Private Dog Park to ensure the safety of our clients and their dogs.

1. Definitions:

• Inclement Weather: For the purpose of this policy, inclement weather includes, but is not limited to:
  • Heavy rain or thunderstorms
  • Lightning
  • Hail
  • High winds (sustained winds exceeding 25 mph or gusts exceeding 35 mph)
  • Extreme heat (heat index exceeding 100°F)
  • Extreme cold (temperature below 32°F with wind chill)
  • Snow or ice that creates slippery or hazardous conditions
  • Air Quality Index (AQI) classified as unhealthy or worse.

2. Park Closure and Notifications:

• Fetch at The Stall reserves the right to close the park due to inclement weather conditions.
• Closure decisions will be based on safety assessments and local weather forecasts.
• Notifications of park closures will be communicated to clients through:
  • Email notifications
  • Text message alert for booked appointments
• Clients are responsible for checking these communication channels before visiting the park, especially during periods of potentially inclement weather.

3. Specific Weather Conditions:

• Thunderstorms/Lightning:
  • The park will be closed during active thunderstorms and lightning.
  • Clients are advised to seek shelter immediately if thunderstorms develop while at the park.
• Heavy Rain/Hail:
  • The park may be closed during periods of heavy rain or hail due to potential flooding or hazardous ground conditions.
• High Winds:
  • The park may be closed during high wind events due to the risk of falling branches or other debris.
• Extreme Heat:
  • During periods of extreme heat, the park may be closed or have adjusted hours to minimize the risk of heatstroke.
  • Clients are advised to bring ample water for themselves and their dogs and to monitor their dogs for signs of heat stress.
• Extreme Cold/Snow/Ice:
  • The park may be closed during extreme cold, snow, or ice events due to hazardous ground conditions.
  • Clients who choose to use the park during these conditions do so at their own risk, and are advised to take extra care to protect their dogs from the cold.
• Poor Air Quality:
  • When the AQI is unhealthy or worse, the park may be closed to protect the health of dogs and their owners.

4. Member Responsibilities:

• Clients are responsible for monitoring weather conditions and making informed decisions about visiting the park.
• Clients are responsible for the safety of themselves and their dogs while at the park, regardless of weather conditions.
• Clients should never leave their dogs unattended during inclement weather.
• If weather conditions deteriorate while at the park, clients should leave immediately and seek shelter.
• Clients should always bring appropriate supplies for the weather conditions, such as water, towels, and protective gear for themselves and their dogs.

5. Refunds/Rescheduling:

• If a pre-booked time slot is impacted by a park closure due to inclement weather, Fetch at The Stall will make reasonable efforts to reschedule the booking, pending park availability.

6. Safety First:

• The safety of our clients and their dogs is our top priority.
• Fetch at The Stall reserves the right to modify or amend this policy as needed to ensure safety.
